LPM INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION 
for the Best Participants of the 
XXI EUROPEAN SUMMER MASTERCLASSES

The competition was founded by London Piano Masters. 
The main task of the competition is to support talented young pianists through scholarships and to create for them opportunities to perform and become known in the UK and abroad.

Rules: 
Each participant or group must be presented to the organising committee through the school participating to the LPM Summer Masterclass. If the participant is enrolling to the masterclass individually or with a programme not prepared through his/her school, the application can be sent directly to the organizing committee.
Participants of the previous editions are allowed for participation in the competition again but with a programme completely different from the one presented the year before. 


Prizes:

Category, Solo

1st prize:    Diploma of 1st Prize and Full Scholarship for the following 
     Masterclass Edition in the same summer or the following year.
2nd prize:  Diploma of 2nd prize and 40% Scholarship for the following 
     Masterclass Edition in the same summer or the following year.
3rd prize:   Diploma of 3rd prize and  20% Scholarship for the following 
     Masterclass Edition in the same summer or the following year.

Category, Piano Duo and Chamber Music

1st prize:    Diploma of 1st Prize and Full Scholarship for the following 
     Masterclass Edition in the same summer or the following year.
2nd prize:  Diploma of 2nd prize and 40% Scholarship for the following 
     Masterclass Edition in the same summer or the following year.
3rd prize:   Diploma of 3rd prize and 20% Scholarship for the following

Application:
Applications must be presented directly by the student to the organising committee by the deadline. 
The application should indicate the first name, surname, place and date of birth of the candidate together with the programme for competition.
There is no application fee for the active masterclass students.
External application are welcome, after the payment of a Competition Fees of £100.


Programme:

SoloElementary: A free programme of a minimum of 1 piece to a maximum of 5 minutes.
          Performance by memory is not compulsory

         Intermediate: A free programme of a minimum of 1 piece to a maximum of 8 minutes.
         Performance by memory is not compulsory

       Michelangeli’s Academy: A free programme of a minimum of 5 minutes to a maximum 
        of 12 minutes. Performance by memory is compulsory

Piano Duo and Chamber Music:  
        Elementary:   A free programme of a maximum of 8 minutes.
        Intermediate:  
       ​Michelangeli’s Academy: A free programme of a maximum of 15 minutes.


1. The Jury reserves the right to select only part of a work to be performed or to stop competitors who exceed the time limit allocated.
2. Repeats may be included or omitted at the applicant's discretion, bearing in mind the time limits specified.
3. Works requiring prepared piano or use of additional equipment will not be allowed.
4. Performances of unpublished works will not be allowed.
